Changelings in the Twin Cities With some exceptions, the fae of the Kingdom of Grass hold conservative values and consider themselves a solid, sensible, and dependable people. The Duchy of Goldenrod is no exception. Katiya Rasputina ni Leanhaun rules from her seat of power in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The System is Working The Feudal Monarchy in The Kingdom of Grass is well established. Commoners largely understand and accept their place. The Sidhe strive to emulate Katiya's vision by ruling responsibly and taking value in their people's happiness. The Duchess is a benevolent leader who shows unrelenting determination when it comes to protecting her people and the dream. While the Duchy is not in active turmoil, it is known the clock ticks on Katiya's rule as the Childling Countess, Astarte ni Gwydion is heir to the Duchy per the decree of Queen Morgance ni Dougal. Due to this uncertain future, there is a cold reception to revolutionaries. Medieval values are well entrenched. Cold Remembrance The Unseelie of Goldenrod remember a time when Minnesota was part of the Kingdom of Northern Ice. Queen Laurel's imminent wedding to Duke Roccoco of the Shadow Court has stirred up a lot of dreams in the darker fae. These dreams of Northern Ice rule has slowly faded away at the rise of Katiya after her marriage to Daniel McCrae, and the subsequent victory against the Shadow's incursion into Kingdom of Grass. But with that victory came a bitter price as land changed hands. Will the deal struck by Queen Morgance and Queen Laurel hold? Will the desire of Northern Ice for the glade be mollified by a recent land shift? Time will tell. Tick. Tock.

Redcap Niall McCrae along with a host of Scottish immigrants, sets up a Sawmill at Saint Anthony Falls near Fort Snelling. The Barony of Three Whirlpools is founded. 1862 McCrae and his followers wrest Minnesota from the French Fae inhabiting the Kingdom of Northern Ice. Central to the war were allegations of the northern fae's decimating hunting practices and the American mistreatment of the Nunnehi. 1869 Vengeful Fae from the Kingdom of Northern Ice assault Saint Anthony Falls, nearly collapsing the Freehold and the power source of the entire city. Aideen Greyson and the 31st Troll Infantry drive back the invasion at great cost to both sides. 1969 The Sidhe return sparks the Accordance War. The fae soul of Lady Morgance ni Dougal chrysalizes in the body of renowned philanthropist and former darling of the big screen, Colleen Fallon. Her assertion to rule is not well received by the commoners, particularly of the McCrae Corby. 1973 The Great Lakes Campaign: During The Accordance War, The McCrae Corby joined the uprising in the Battle for Isle Royale. Then Patriarch, Garland McCrae is rumored to have alerted the local garou to the Sidhe's presence in their sacred places which caused a predictable massacre. Unfortunately he died in battle a few weeks later and never confirmed the tale. 1974 Lady Morgance takes the throne. The Barony of Three Whirlpools is dissolved, replaced by the Duchy of Goldenrod in Caer Viridis. 2001 After a decade of wars, the despair caused by the World Trade Center Bombing unleashes the forces of the Elder Dark into the World. Souls of the nightmarish Thallain find human hosts and the blood moon casts its pall on Concordia. 2004 The Legend of the Smiley Face Killer is born in the Twin Cities. Brenyn is imprisoned in a tree in Dayton's Bluff. 2014 Baron Friedrich flees to Germany. Morgance frees Brenyn from her prison. Gloriana claims Whispering Stones.
Royalty Queen Morgance ni Dougal Once the Countess of Goldenrod (Before it grew into the Duchy of The Three Whirlpools). As a mortal she is respected in Minneapolis as Colleen Fallon, a Philanthropist and a board member of The Minneapolis Historical Society. Though her rise to power was bloody, she is respected for her fairness, benevolence, and genuine interest in the welfare of her subjects and the Dream. She ascended the throne of the Kingdom of Grass after the death of her cousin, Queen Mary Elizabeth ni Dougal. Aideen Greyson ni Dougal Commander of the 31st Troll Infantry based in Caer Palatine. Though she once fought on the side of the commoners in the Great Lakes Campaign, Aideen pledged fealty to Lady Morgance in 1975. In 2015 the two were wed even though they had shared the Oath of True Hearts for several decades. The Keystone of the Queen's power, Cmdr. Greyson is blessed with Fae Eternity and has been a force among the fae since the Tudor Conquests of Ireland in the sixteenth century. Aideen's protection allowed Lady Morgance to weather the storm in the fledgeling years of her rule. A contingent of the 31st will remain in Caer Viridis to protect the glade. Duchess Katiya Ni Leanhaun Katiya rose to power after killing Glorianna ni Eiluned who had fallen to the Shadow Court. Katiya immolated her and soon after was named Baroness when Friedrich ap Eiluned stepped down. Some members of the barony left in disgust, others remained. She is sarcastically referred to by some as the puppet queen as many believe it was a poorly devised trick by Friedrich to rule from the shadows and avoid Brenyn. A trick which weakened House Eiluned considerably. Despite whispers, the baroness would be the most formidable player of the Game of Houses, an marriage of political convenience to Daniel McCrae brought over 60 percent of all fae under her banner paving her way to power. Duke Daniel McCrae Descended from Niall and Garland McCrae. Daniel was a child during the Accordance War. His appointment to Reeve was a political move by Lady Morgance to address the malcontents who still feel slighted by the Sidhe takeover. it also serves to supress rumors of her supposed unfairness or lack of claim. He would take advantage of the "puppet queen" or was it her taking advantage of him? He now rules by Duchess Leanhaun's side, but his lack of an official noble house calls that into question. After Babatunde's being caught lying in open court to the queen, Daniel McCrae and Katiya ni Leanhaun took power. What many call Daniel's fatal mistake was assuring the Queen of Grass that that Astarte would be the heir to the throne in order to curry her favor. Daniel rules the McCrae Corby which is the largest in the world. Some magic keeps redcaps being born into the McCrae bloodline which is unheard of anywhere else. Forty redcaps from Clan McCrae reside in The Three Whirlpools. County of Whispering Stones (UnSeelie) Count Evander Ripley ap Eiluned has the reputation of a cutting tongue and ability to point out deficiencies in those around him. He is renowned as the greatest swordsman in the Kingdom of Grass and for his protection of the Duchy through the war with the Shadow by subjugating the dragon, Pyros, whom he still controls. His demesne includes Market Barony and Silent Shadows. Despite his looking down his nose at commoners, Knight Ripley has a continuing romantic relationship with the pooka, Dame Maricela Chavez. Market Barony (Seelie) Baroness Josie McCrae is a renown chef and known for her a pleasing personality. She married into the McCrae family with Benjamin McCrae, and works continuously across the aisle. Her rise to Baroness was a surprise and recently put down to the market needing someone with her nurturing and organization skills. Barony of Silent Shadows (Seelie) Nadia Stark ni Eiluned has fulfilled the desires of the House of Eiluned and reclaimed Sleeper House from House Scathach. Nadia has been a quiet Seelie noble, working behind the scenes to secure power and moved from the Seer of the Three Whirlpools to Baroness in a matter of months. County of Goldenrod (Seelie) Countess Astarte ni Gwydion rules from The Temple of Benthiskyme. The Childling Countess was the prodigy of her grandfather Babatunde ap Gwydion who fell out of favor after his deceptions to protect Knight Roque were discovered by her Knight Protector, Sir Dean Risi. Astarte was the darling of Aideen Greyson and favored by the queen. She is named the Heiress of the Three Whirlpools and will be the Duchess when she comes of age, which is undefined much to the frustration of many fae. Her demesne includes The Barony of the Mind's Eye and the 31st Infantry which controls the Glade below Caer Viridis. Caer Viridis and The Glade The 31st Infantry has always protected the glade regardless of who rules. Once a Mukhabarat intelligence agent before Chrysalis and then the Spymaster of Morgance; Samir Gadin ap Scathach took command of the 31st Infantry in the Three Whirlpools when Morgance ascended to the Throne of Grass. Soft spoken but firm, Samir is a guiding force in the Three Whirlpools. His control of the 31st Infantry and his network of spies make him a dangerous opponent.
