Lydia Grey was born in Liverpool. Her family was old money and so she was able to travel in the best circles. After Chrysalis she found her niche among the fae of The Kingdom of Chalk as a party planner. The return of the Sidhe brought war and Lydia correctly reasoned that their dream would guide them back to reign. She became the squire of Knight Edgestow who would elevate her to Knight within the year and take her to America. Lydia and Viktor were a force to be reckoned with in the Great Lakes Campaign, but the war left a bitter taste in her mouth. When she was honored by Queen Mary Elizabeth ap Dougal, the knight asked to be demoted to Lady in Waiting so that she might learn statesmanship from the Queen. Her wish was granted. She would return to Caer Viridis as the eyes and ears of the Queen. Lydia went back to party planning and leveraged her status as a war hero to justify her criticisms of many of the nobility and commoners alike. Lydia said that the fae were lacking manners and a society without manners is chaos. Her opinions were greatly respected by Countess Morgance ni Dougal. Though she was often asked to take back the mantle of knighthood, Lydia refused, saying the work of civility was far more important than swinging a sword to society. Lydia was granted a position that she herself invented called the Mistress of High Tea, whose job it is to keep nobles and commoners alike cognizant of the ideals of a utopian society of nobility, chivalry, and sophistication that was Morgance’s shared vision, (or was it really just Lydia’s?). Today she is arguably the most dangerous player in the game of houses, her words can make or break a reputation and everyone knows it. She is the lady to Lilith Black and lives with her and others at the Rookery. She is engaged to Knight Edgestow and expects to be married come Beltane.
