As an agent with Minnesota’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Roque is a state police detective, and prior military officer (US Army). Whether he’s of Latin or Greek ancestry is a bit of a discussion, preferably over wine or coffee.
He’s gained a bit of a reputation (depending on who you ask) as either: an idealist with a Colombo-like ability to reconstruct a crime scene, a bit of a press-hounding showboat, or as a fanatic who’s going to get people killed.
Nonetheless, he’s survived several assassination attempts, and a couple of court cases against him (which fell apart, quite publicly.)
It may be a matter of time before his luck runs out, but until then, he continues to work, continues to open his mouth, and try to look good to the press doing it.

Let us not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless when facing them.
- Crime - He’s a detective for the state police. Maybe he can help.
- Video games - He does in fact like them. Seriously, so does the world! And he has a smartphone he spends too much time on.
- Guns - He likes to shoot – he’s actually not likely to rail on about the specifics of one brand of gun over another – unless there is a real functional difference. You might find him on the range.
- Politics - He is a military veteran who served in the contingency operations. He’s no commando, but he saw enough to have ideas on how things work and why… Or at least THINK he knows.
- Hunting - He’s actually been learning how to do that and clean game…. And he still gets queasy talking about it – but over a heavily flavored coffee, he’ll talk about it.

- Jess - Has been very helpful in many things, including teaching me the manly art of hunting. (The fact that she's good looking has absolutely nothing to do with it... yeah).
- Travis - Fellow veteran. We have much we speak of, and then don't speak of, but still remember.
- Aria - I still think looking at paintings is boring, but it's fun watching her talk about - but I'd rather sit and drink my coffee in an arthouse than actually walk around and look – unless there is a larger idea to discuss.
- Katiya - She understands the feelings of some of the victims, and you are willing to say something about it. She’s also leveraging it for self-promotion, like any real commercial artist – but she still understands and can help, and that is good in my book. (The fact that she's good looking has absolutely nothing to do with it... of course).
- Dean Olsen - Look, I get it. Big, Bad, Strong, MMA. Seriously, muscle man, we use guns these days.... But... you protect kids. That trumps most things.
- Gigi - Associate and Partner against crime... What happened to you? Someday, you'll get justice.
