Armor Rules

For the sake of Sanity!


Reinforced Clothing

This covers things like heavy biker-leathers, or the heavy jumpsuits worn by construction crews and hunters.


Bashing Soak: 2
Melee Soak: 1
Bullet Soak: 0
Dexterity Penalty: 0
Conceal: Automatic. These are clothes.


Armor T-Shirt

This is a thin Kevlar garment worn under street clothes. Easily concealed.

Bullet Soak: 1
Dexterity Penalty: 0
Conceal: Windbreaker or Light Jacket


Light Ballistic Vest

Armor meant for dangerous situations where you can't be seen wearing armor.

Dexterity Penalty: 1
Conceal: Windbreaker or Light Jacket


Medium Ballistic Vest

Most common police armor. This is the vest you see FBI agents put on in the X-Files, and the cops on Law and Order - SVU put on so often. Trauma plates can be added. That number is in parentheses.

Bullet Soak: 3 (4)
Dexterity Penalty: 1 (2)
Conceal: Heavy Jacket or Suit


Flak Jacket

Like the Medium Ballistic Vest, but extends to cover the arms, and some of the legs.

Bullet Soak: 4
Explosion Soak: 1
Dexterity Penalty: 2
Conceal: Trenchcoat.


SWAT Jacket

This is designed for SWAT and hostage rescue teams. Minimum resources 5 to acquire legally as a civilian, and will unilaterally draw police attention, even if legally owned.

Dexterity Penalty: 2 (1 when shooting only)
Conceal: Trenchcoat


Riot Gear

This is the most advanced ballistic armor you're likely to see, designed to protect most of your body.

Conceal: Non Concealable


Bomb Disposal Suit

Welcome to the Bomb-Squad! Now run with Nitro!

Dexterity Penalty: 3 (0 on delicate hand-work like disarming bombs)
Conceal: Nonconcealable.


Nomex Suit

This is a bodysuit worn by racecar drivers. It provides only one form of protection.

Fire Soak: 3
Conceal: Full clothing.


Tailored Armor

Designer clothes with Kevlar weave. Minimum Resourcees 4. Perception + streetwise diff 10 to ID.
Perception + Style diff 8 can also ID.

Conceal: Automatic. This is clothing.


Medieval Armor

Composite Armor/Studded Leather

Conceal: Trenchcoat.


Heavy Armor

Ring, Scale or Chainmail.

Melee Soak: 4

Conceal: Nonconcealable.


Plate Armor

Stereotypical Full Knight's Armor.

Military Helmet

Melee Soak: 1
Bullet Soak: 1
Perception Penalty: 0


SWAT Helmet

Bullet Soak: 2
Perception Penalty: 1 (2 with integrated Gas Mask)


Light Helm

This is Archaic Armor

Full Helm

This is a total coverage archaic helm. Uncomfortable, but protective.

Sphere Specific

Mage

Leadstopper Armor

Designer clothes with a special weave manufactured only by the Syndicate. Level 1 Wonder. Only serious inspection will be able to discern its unique nature.

Conceal: Automatic. This is clothing.


NOTE: Each agent with Leadstopper clothing has a jnoted desc of what it looks like. Thus, at the beginning of any timestop, check the agent's desc. If he isn't wearing it, he hasn't got it.
